I have been with this practice for about 15 years. The staff are always very professional and friendly. They make you feel very welcome and important. The rooms and front area are Very clean. Everything is very organized when walking to a room. I have seen Jill Miller ever since I have been going there. She is Awesome. I am so comfortable with her and her assistants. She listens and ask questions during the visit. I have seen a couple other doctors and they are great and friendly and theytake there time with you. .My daughter has gone there as well,and felt the same way. I’ve had my fair share of OB offices and this one is one I’ll never leave. I just gave birth with Elissa and it was the best birth experience I’ve had. Prior to having my baby, I knew I wanted to have a midwife. I was disappointed to find out that Dr. Bevers was retiring. However, I was relieved when I met Barfoot. She made my first pregnancy enjoyable. I looked forward to coming to my OB appointments to see her and the Medical Assistant Jakaiya. During labor she listened to me and my needs. She was very thorough with my delivery. I'm going to miss seeing her every week. If I were to move away, I would come back to have her as my midwife once again.

I had an appt with Dr Alvarez for the 1st time last week (Oct 6/21). The staff members were amazing and I loved Dr Alvarez. He is very attentive, was a good listener as I shared my issues and concerns, and had a very reasonable suggestion for solutions. Everything was taken care of quickly, my pharmacist had my new prescription the next day, and I'm very impressed with the level of care. I'm scheduled for a mammogram and followup consultation in Dec.

Dr. McCullen is a true professional. I have been seeing Dr. McCullen now for approximately 13 years. The bulk of those years have been uneventful wellness check ups. I thought Dr. McCullen was amazing then but in 2020 Dr. McCullen exceeded my expectations when I had to be treated for something completely unexpected. The pressures of something so scary and uncertain were hard enough but then during COVID19 when I couldn't have family right next to me Dr. McCullen made sure to go the extra mile to help me, not make me feel rushed. and give me the attention I needed. She made sure that she got me to the right people quickly and saved me from having to undergo additional surgeries. Fast forward to a year later and even though I still have moments of anxiety from what happened a year prior she still has the patience of a Saint and always makes me feel like I'm being heard. She addresses all my needs, answers all my questions, and is so very knowledgeable. She is a true professional. Of all the medical doctors I have encountered she is the best. I called to confirm my appointment and they rescheduled it 3 months apart, stating that I requested it. Really? English is not my primary language, but I think I am somehow fluent and have 2 degrees from US College. I repeated 2 times that, I am going to keep my appointment on this and this date.I do not think it is professional, they even could not offer me a relevant option to resolve the issue.Edited: they were very efficient in resolving the issue (within a week). I appreciate the staff for taking care of it.

I've recently moved from CA, 28 week pregnant and was looking for a new OB, i went to a different office, but was not happy with them and transferred again to the OB-GYN Women's Centre of Lakewood Ranch, and I'm really happy I did! Dr. Jennifer McCullen really takes her time with me, makes sure I understand everything, asks if I have questions, she is funny, knowledgeable and caring. She thoroughly went through my transferred medical file and asked me a lot of questions as she noticed a few test results were missing (the previous doc's office never even noticed they were missing from my transferred file!), of course she contacted my previous doc in CA and got everything that was missing by my next appointment.It seems that she really cares about her patients, I really hope she will be able to deliver my baby when time comes.The only downside about this office is that you aren't able to schedule your appointments with the provider you prefer or "click" with. I have met 2 other doctors and although they were both really great, I feel much more commutable with a woman as my OB-GYN, however the girls at the front desk told me that they are not allowed to schedule my appointments to a specific doctor which is kind of disappointing.

Love, Love, Love my GYN and his nurse, Karen Lopez. Karen's professionalism, together with her empathy for the patient's angst and concerns are refreshing and calming . She was of great comfort to me on my recent visit, in light of my concerns with mom's recent battle with breast cancer and what it could mean for me. Rather than dismissing my fears, Karen took the time to discuss them with me and shed some insightful and helpful advice. What I love most is that her excellence in patient care extends passed my actual visit. She is quick to respond to emails whether they relate to a particular concern or merely a request for additional information, eliminating the anxiety that comes with waiting for days for a call back or response when it relates to a concern or finding. Can't forget Dr. Alvarez who is extremely pleasant and professional, rendering quality patient service, taking time to relay findings in a manner you can understand rather than medical lingo that gets lost in translation.Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't add that the front office staff is very pleasant and helpful, representing the practice well. I'm in good hands with OB-GYN Women's Centre of Lakewood Ranch, but I am in even better hands with Dr. Alvarez and Karen. THANK YOU!

OBGYN Women’s Center is Heaven sent. I have worked for and with physicians most of my career thus far. Going into my first pregnancy, I wanted to find a practice that would celebrate with me but also be informative and supportive throughout the pregnancy process. Each individual that I have met, from front desk staff, nurses, ultrasound technicians and providers have far exceeded my hopes for my OB experience. Not only did they make this process so enjoyable and reassuring, but they also helped me through a very difficult condition called Hyperemesis Gravadarum. During my pregnancy, I have gone to four different hospitals and seen my primary care physician. Most doctors struggled to understand my symptoms and left me the same way they found me. Going to this practice was the first time that I felt cared for and knew I was being advocated for. Every provider and nurse went above and beyond to create a treatment plan that helped me to finally start feeling excited for this beautiful new journey in my life. As I mentioned before, working in healthcare in the past has conditioned my view of the extent healthcare can impact someone’s life, but this practice has truly made an impact on my life forever. I honestly could not thank them enough for listening, caring and partnering with me so well this far throughout my pregnancy.
