Our GYN In-Office Procedures
Breast Ultrasounds: A standard breast ultrasound is a non-invasive medical procedure used to examine breast tissue and detect abnormalities. We offer on-site breast ultrasounds for patients who’ve received inconclusive mammogram results. It involves using a handheld ultrasound transducer that emits high-frequency sound waves to create real-time images of the breast. The procedure takes about 15 to 30 minutes and requires no special preparation. The results help in distinguishing between fluid-filled cysts and solid masses, aiding in breast cancer screening and diagnostics. Breast ultrasound is safe, painless, and an important tool for diagnosis and treatment planning.
Colposcopy: A colposcopy may be needed when a pap test shows abnormal results. This procedure takes place so your GYN can more closely examine your cervix, vagina, and vulva.
Endometrial Ablation: This procedure is done as an alternative to a hysterectomy for women who experience abnormally heavy periods. There are different options for this procedure such as the Cerene treatment which is an endometrial ablation treatment that uses cooling technology (cryotherapy) to remove the lining of the uterus (endometrium), which is often the cause of heavy bleeding and discomfort. Cryotherapy provides a natural pain-relieving effect during the treatment without the need for general anesthesia. 92% of patients have said their pain level was at or below the acceptable median pain score during treatment. When you visit your GYN physician, you will have the opportunity to discuss which procedure will be the best for you.
Hysteroscopy: A hysteroscopy is another simple procedure we do in-office. During the hysteroscopy, your GYN will use a camera to look inside the uterus to diagnose any obvious uterine abnormalities.
IUD Insertion: An IUD, an intrauterine device, is a device that is used as a form of long-term birth control and is inserted by a physician. It’s a great birth control option for those women who are not interested in permanent birth control. This device is easily inserted or removed by your physician during an office visit.
There are different options for IUDs: Mirena®, Kyleena, Paragard®, Skyla®, etc. Once you meet with your physician you can discuss which will be the best option for you.
NEXPLANON® Insertion: NEXPLANON® is a long-term form of birth control that is inserted into the arm and is over 99 percent effective at preventing pregnancy for three years.
Pessary Fitting/Insertion: A pessary is a low-risk and effective treatment option for women suffering from pelvic organ prolapse. We are able to custom fit and insert the pessary in-office so you can start feeling better, sooner.
Removal or Destruction of Condyloma: The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) causes Condyloma or genital warts. We are able to remove and treat condyloma in-office.
Urodynamic Testing: This test is done to measure the function and efficiency of your bladder. It is done to help determine the cause of your bladder incontinence.
Vaginal Rejuvenation: Either due to childbirth or aging, the vagina can become slack or loose. During a vaginal rejuvenation procedure, the vagina is “tightened up” either for reconstructive or cosmetic purposes.
Vulvar Biopsy: A biopsy is done on the vulvar to diagnose lesions. It is a safe and simple procedure conducted in the comfort of our office.
Vulvar Revision or Labiaplasty: This is a simplified surgical procedure that revises deformities or scarring of the labia, hymen, or vagina, which can be caused by childbirth or trauma of the genital area.
